Marijuana legalization for recreational and medical use is spreading from state to across the US. The Trump administration is saber-rattling over the trend, threatening to reinvigorate federal restrictions.

Historian Emily Dufton tracks the rise, backlash and return of Marijuana in the US through the last 100 years. She profiles the plants supporters and opponents as they battle for control over the story and the science of pot.
